6th Oceanis Med

47 Oceanis crews, the iconic line of cruisers by BENETEAU, met up on the island of Porquerolles from 26 to 28 June, for the 6th Oceanis Med.

Everyone had a good time at this friendly good humoured gathering on the Var coast. The event was organized by the Oceanis Forum which now has over 1500 members and it brought several generations of Oceanis cruisers together, ranging from the Oceanis 286 to the Beneteau 57

The participants who arrived on Thursday enjoyed a friendly dinner near the pontoons.

The next day, following breakfast and an early morning briefing in the village, any owners who wished to do so put out to sea to improve their sailing techniques, while the others enjoyed relaxing around a game of petanque on Place d’Armes. The eventful day ended with dinner at the Orangeraie.

On Saturday, the big day, all the Oceanis crews left the marina for a “friendly regatta” with a course set for Cap Bénat. Staggered starts created some suspense and had the organisers and some of the larger boats in a cold sweat, with the “smaller” ones enjoying good weather up to the Cap Bénat. However, real experience showed in the end, with the most seasoned crews, including CENITZ (Oceanis), coming out on top.

The prize-giving gala dinner wrapped up the day’s activities. Everyone was awarded a trophy, as well as various prizes offered by BENETEAU and their partners. As for the winners, they each received a cup, which will be awarded annually.

The Oceanis Med was a great success, leaving owners happy and impatient to return in 2023. We are grateful to Richard, Jean-Michel, Eric and Katell for their faultless organization.
