Poussé par le vent : Christmas at sea for adventurers
AN OCEAN CROSSING!
Last December, we left Sarah, Aurélien and the young Naël, on the islands of Cape Verde. At the time, the adventurers were talking of their project to cross the Atlantic Ocean and head to South America for Christmas and the New Year. So, on 22 December 2017, the young couple set sail for Brazil! It was an unforgettable Christmas in the middle of the Ocean, for the young ship’s boy and his parents. The family then dropped anchor on the island of Fernando do Noronha, after a 10-day crossing, which was followed by a big storm, but also magnificently starry nights.
SARAH, THE SOUL OF AN ADVENTURER
A quick look back at Sarah’s unusual background: At the age of 11 she grew up on a yacht with her parents and her brother (the call of the sea is in the blood!) . Then she spent her teenage years in Nouméa in New Caledonia, before becoming a 4-time French Champion in windsurfing. At the age of 22, her doctor detected a heart problem and she was implanted with a defibrillator. This did not prevent the young sportswoman from taking on a transatlantic crossing on a windsurfing board in 2012. After this, the young woman became a pioneer of SUP Yoga in France, which involves learning to do yoga positions while balancing on a stand-up paddle. She also organizes SUP Yoga retreats wherever she travels, for anyone who would like to join her.
