15th Bay of Islands Sailing Week
Oceanis 41.1 wins in IRC
A stunning win for the Oceanis 41.1
It is said that the sky of the Bay of Islands, on the northern tip of New Zealand’s north island, is the most beautiful in the world (after Rio). The racers in the 15th Bay of Islands Sailing Week Regatta are unlikely to contradict this legend: they raced for three days under a dazzling sun. 91 boats took part in this race, which, every year, attracts many sailors from all over the world.
The Oceanis 41.1 finished first in its class: the winning team was made up of its owner Conrad GAIR and his guests, as well as staff from 36 Degrees Brokers, BENETEAU New Zealand’s dealer in sailing yachts.
Conrad Gair was handed his trophy by Sam Meech, winner of a bronze medal in sailing in the Rio Olympics. The odds are that next year we will see other BENETEAU sailing yachts in this wonderful regatta in the southern hemisphere.
