The Gran Turismo 50 wins an award for its design at the 2026 World Yacht Trophies

This award honours the Gran Turismo 50’s modern, sleek exterior lines, as well as the inventive layout of its outdoor areas, designed to allow owners to fully enjoy life on board.

A new vision of the express cruiser

The Gran Turismo 50 is the flagship model of the new-generation Gran Turismo range, conceived with a renewed vision of the express cruiser.

As Robert Chaffer, Product Manager for Gran Turismo, explains:

The new Gran Turismo range is the result of extensive research conducted in the express cruiser segment, designed to meet the expectations of customers who want more outdoor space and a closer connection with the water when at anchor. The Gran Turismo 50, the flagship model of the range, represents the ultimate achievement of this approach. This third generation of the 50 model reflects a major evolution in terms of style and design.

The result is a yacht with a distinctive silhouette, which combines elegant lines with generous outdoor space.

In comparison with the previous generation, the new Gran Turismo 50 features amongst other things, a roofline that is more than 37 cm lower, while the aft cockpit deck is just 90 cm above the water. Once the platforms are extended, the available space is more than twice that of the previous model, offering a spacious outdoor area designed to fully enjoy time at anchor.

A design centred on emotion

The design of the Gran Turismo 50 was inspired by the Japanese concept of Yūgen, an aesthetic philosophy that combines subtle beauty with deep emotion.

Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Yūgen and by returning to the roots of the express cruiser, with a sleek, elegant and functional silhouette, the results of the team’s work are clearly evident, adds Robert Chaffer. In comparison with the previous generation, the new 50 requires just one step to access the cockpit, instead of three previously, while the roofline has been lowered by more than 37 cm. The deck of the aft cockpit is just 90 cm above the water and, once the platforms are deployed, the available surface area is more than twice that of the previous model.

This approach results in a yacht with a distinct personality, while offering a new concept of outdoor living. With its spacious aft cockpit and opening platforms, the Gran Turismo 50 offers a genuine living space with a direct view of the sea.

For Robert Chaffer, this connection with the water is at the heart of the experience offered by the yacht:

It is simple: the first time you see the Gran Turismo 50 on the water, it immediately strikes a chord within you.

An adventure that continues with two new nominations

The 2026 World Yacht Trophy, Best Exterior Design has been granted to the Gran Turismo 50, which continues to make its way with two new international nominations:

The results will be announced on the 26th of November 2026 in Berlin for the Best of Boats Awards and on the 23rd of January 2027 in Düsseldorf for the European Yacht of the Year.
