The 5th edition took place in Crouesty

Blocs :

A great vintage!

This edition was packed with records: 50 hours of fishing, 12 Barracuda 8s and 24 new Barracuda 7s
on the water; more than 350 bass caught, measured, and released; thousands of lures; hundreds
of rods and reels, and more than 500 competitors from all over the world for the Amateur Challenge
and Grand Final, with more than enough smiles and friendliness to go around.

The amateur challenge

Organised for amateurs between 12th and 14th May 2017, the Amateur Challenge took place
in Arzon between the Port of Crouesty and the islands of Hoëdic and Houat. The 40 crews present,
divided up between amateurs and partners into two different categories,
fought hard to win the only available place in the Grand Final.

It was ultimately “Glénan pêche sportive 2” who won, with a total of 176 points on the amateur side.
As for the partners, it was Navionics, a newcomer for this event, with a whopping 260 points!
The well-known lure brand Fiiish, came second with 173 points and Mc Technologies,
the Lowrance echosounder specialist, came third with 172 points.

The Grand Final

From 17th to 20th May 2017, the Grand Final brought together all the crews that made it
through the selection rounds, the partners, their professional teams, and several Barracuda
owners who came to measure the performances of these boats in competition.
All in all, more than 350 competitors during 3 days of intense fishing!

Despite the temperamental weather conditions, the fishing zones located between
the Port of Crouesty, Hoëdic, and Houat all proved fruitful on Thursday and Friday
for the 36 crews who qualified for the GOLD medal final on Saturday 20th May.

During the SILVER medal final on Saturday morning (organised for boats that did not
qualify for the GOLD medal final), the partner Mc Technologies triumphed,
ahead of the official “Barracuda Tour” boat, and the Nauti Breizh crew,
our dealer in Perros-Guirec.

During the afternoon of the GOLD medal final, the suspense was palpable and the fish-tanks’
secrets were well-kept amongst the crews. The results came in by the end of the evening
and it was ultimately Daiwa France who won this 2017 edition, with the dealer
Chantier Naval Chantereyne coming in second place and Fiiish in third!

This year’s edition took on an international form with numerous European crews present for
the Grand Final. A BENETEAU event made possible by the commitment of all participating dealers
and all partners of the Barracuda Tour. Historical partners, such as: Suzuki, Daiwa, Fiiish, 4water,
Lowrance, MC technologies, ATM communication, Sunway, ECF, Henri Lloyd, Railblaza, Eugène Ellia,
SGB Finance, Gras Savoye Yachting and Euromarine,
as well as new partners like
Navionics, Navico, Windreport and Hénaff.
